Submission Guidelines

Black Dome Press publishes nonfiction books on the history, art, architecture, culture, folklore, and natural sciences of New York State, with a special concentration on the Hudson River Valley and Catskill Mountains regions. We also publish New York State guidebooks. We do not publish fiction, poetry, or children’s books, even if the subject matter otherwise falls within our purlieu.

If your manuscript meets these guidelines and you would like to submit a proposal to Black Dome Press so that we may consider your work for publication, please observe the following guidelines:

• Do not send the entire work. Mail a cover letter, table of contents, introduction, sample chapter (or two), and your C.V. or brief biography to: Editor, Black Dome Press, 649 Delaware Ave., Delmar, NY 12054

• Please do not send computer disks or submit your proposal via e-mail.

• If your book will include illustrations, please send us copies of sample illustrations. Do not send originals. We cannot be held responsible for any lost or damaged materials that you send.

• If you wish to have your submission materials returned to you, please enclose a stamped self-addressed envelope.

• We carefully review every submission. Please anticipate 4-6 weeks for a reply.
